The Connecticut State Museum of Natural History (CSMNH) presents "A Visit to the Miniature Forest with Dr. Bernard Goffinet." Join moss expert Dr. Goffinet, from the University of Connecticut's Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, on a guided "moss walk" on the UConn campus.
On this easy hike through a portion of the 165-acre parcel known as the HEEP (Hillside Environmental Education Park), you will get acquainted with the miniature forest of mosses that can be found right below your feet. Participants will explore, discover, and hear stories about native Connecticut mosses in these amazing miniature ecosystems.
When: Saturday October 8, 2022 from 10am-12pm
Where: The HEEP, Hillside Environmental Education Park, 159 Discovery Drive, Storrs, CT
Parking information: There is limited parking available at the trailhead, with additional parking at the Innovative Partnership Building and across the street in Lot K. Visit csmnh.uconn.edu/parking for additional parking information and maps.
